The Characters of Dyer's Eve

The true story of Eve Dyer's death has been lost over the years due to the unwillingness of the people of Arkham to face the atrocity of 1939. What is known about her life and death comes solely from the rumors and superstition passed on from a forgotten generation. Eve Dyer was the widow of a local farmer, Archibald Dyer, who passed away early and left her with four children and a mountain of debt. She became a recluse and, when children began to disappear and rumors of her performing black magic began filtering through Arkham, a frenzied mob descended upon the Dyer house and burned Eve alive in her own furnace. Since Eve's untimely death, strange events have been reported by those who attempted to stay there. The house now lies dark, but the people of Arkham think her curse lives on.
